Advice for Men on Hair Loss Issues

The “Thinning Hair or Baldness” Challenge

Every day I am grateful to be a married man. And not just married, but married to an absolutely amazing woman. That being said, it doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten what it’s like to be single or that I’m immune to the affects of male pattern baldness.

But, as a “specialist” in hair thickeners and thinning hair solutions, I have to be more objective. And, I frequently spend time online finding topics to discuss with you.

So here’s what struck me today as I was doing research: most women insist that looks are not the most important feature in a man. In fact, many sites state that women are looking for deeper, more appealing characteristics.

Well, the women making these claims have obviously not been in social settings where they were the one being overlooked. They haven’t experienced that moment when a woman looks at them, sees their thinning hair, smiles politely, then turns their attention to someone else, it’s absolutely gut wrenching!

So here is my challenge to you. The next time you go out, portray some of these “more appealing characteristics” women insist they want. Then, come back here and tell us about your experience. Maybe we can finally lay the truth to rest – do women care about thinning hair? Yes or No.

Not sure what those special characteristics are? Here’s a list:

Smile – women say that the most attractive thing about a man is his smile. So, when you go out, be sure to show your pearly whites.

Pay Attention – women claim to want an attentive man. Be sure that new women you meet are doing at least 60-70% of the talking and that your portion of the conversation is engaging.

Be a Gentleman – even if you meet in a bar, be willing to pull out chairs (or stools), open doors, and help her into her jacket, chivalry is alive and well.

Use Some Humor – you don’t have to be a stand up comedian. But making the effort to get her laughing is supposed to be appealing. So keep it funny (and clean).

First impressions are always tricky. You have nothing but your looks get you the “interview”. But are women really willing to look past that first moment? Those of us with male pattern baldness or thinning hair need to compare notes, because good experiences can give us all a little hope. Negative experiences can help us figure out how to deal with and overcome uncomfortable situations.

I hope you’ll take the time (if you’re single) to approach a few women, be your most charming self, and let us know how it goes. And, of course, come back here to post your experiences.

Good luck!
